The grand opening of event was in Baku, the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic named after M.Magomaev on 17 June 2013. Within the grand opening the First Deputy Minister of Culture of Ukraine T.G.Kohan and Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan A.M . Veliev addressed a welcome speech to the guests: the deputies of Milli Majlis, representatives of the diplomatic corps, intellectuals, creative teams, Ukrainian diaspora, students.
After the official part, the world famous National Honored Academic Dance Ensemble of Ukraine named after P.Virskii performed such well-known dances as "POVZUNETS", "Pleskach", "GOPAC", "KOZACHOK" and others.
Guests of event gotacquainted with the exposition of the photo exhibition "Ukraine Today" presented 32 works in the foyer of the Philharmonic, that demonstrate the greatness of Ukrainian identity and creativity and the arts, social practices, rituals and way of life that existed for thousands of years in the Ukrainian territory.
Besides the mentioned, there was also presented unique cultural project "Amber mosaic" - panels, artinstallations, made of amber in the Ukrainian national and Azerbaijani styles.
On June 18th, the Days of Ukrainian Culture continued by performance of ensemble named after P.Virskii in the Palace of Culture in the city of Hajigabul.
Also this day, T.Kohan and Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan met with the Minister of Culture and Tourism A.Karayev. The sides discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of culture, stressed a need to continue the good practices of Days of Culture in both countries.
