The Ukrainian Center in Baku is an important hub for the development of Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations in cultural, educational, and informational fields. Its activities are aimed at organizing various events that promote Ukrainian culture, art, history, and traditions in Azerbaijan, creating a platform for cultural dialogue between the two countries. Specifically, the Center hosts exhibitions, lectures, workshops, screenings of Ukrainian films, theatrical performances, and musical evenings.
The purpose of establishing the Center is to facilitate a comprehensive approach to addressing key areas of cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
One of the main directions of the Ukrainian Center’s work is educational activity. The “Mriya” school operates here, where children learn the Ukrainian language, customs, and traditions, gaining the opportunity to connect with Ukrainian culture even far from their homeland. The Center places great emphasis on nurturing Ukrainian youth, particularly in the context of national identity and cultural heritage.
The Ukrainian Center cooperates with leading Azerbaijani universities and actively promotes the establishment of partnerships between Ukrainian and Azerbaijani higher education institutions. This enables the organization of joint conferences, exchange programs, and other educational initiatives that strengthen scientific and cultural ties between the countries.
In addition, the Center offers Ukrainian language courses for Azerbaijanis wishing to learn the language. Especially popular is the weekly conversation club, which helps everyone interested to improve their language skills in a relaxed atmosphere. For Ukrainians living in Azerbaijan, there are Azerbaijani language courses that facilitate integration into local society.
The Center also serves as a meeting place for the Ukrainian community in Azerbaijan, supporting their cultural and social initiatives and contributing to strengthening ties among Ukrainians residing in the country.
The Ukrainian Center in Baku is the main partner of the EUNIC Cluster in Azerbaijan for 2025–2026. Since May 7, 2025, joint partner leadership of the EUNIC Cluster has been carried out by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Azerbaijan and the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan.
