Today, this cooperation has delivered a tangible and deeply meaningful result: a person has received the medical treatment she needed and returned to her loved ones.
Nataliia, a Ukrainian citizen who has been living in Azerbaijan since 2022, recently successfully completed her treatment at the National Cancer Institute in Kyiv and returned to Azerbaijan.
Despite the ongoing full-scale war, Ukrainian doctors continue to treat patients and save lives every day. The National Cancer Institute continues to provide specialised oncological care, while Ukrainian medical professionals remain dedicated to their profession and their patients.
“For the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Azerbaijan, this Memorandum has never been merely a formal document. It is important that agreements between medical institutions in Ukraine and Azerbaijan lead to practical outcomes and make a real difference in people's lives.
Nataliia's story is exactly such an example.
It demonstrates that Ukrainians currently living in Azerbaijan can receive the specialised medical care they need in Ukraine when necessary.
We sincerely thank the team of the National Cancer Institute of Ukraine for their professionalism, cooperation and compassion.
We wish Nataliia good health, strength and many happy years ahead,” said Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Azerbaijan Yuriy Husyev.
The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Azerbaijan will continue to promote Ukrainian-Azerbaijani cooperation in healthcare to help make more stories like this possible.
