1. March 9, Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Azerbaijan and representatives of the Ukrainian national and cultural organizations, partisipates in flower-laying ceremony at the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Baku. During the event, Ambassador of Ukraine A.P.Mischenko, head of the Ukrainian community in Azerbaijan named after T.Shevchenko A.F.Zarechny and head of Ukrainian Congress of Azerbaijan I.I.Yakovenko welcomed the participants of event, adressed speech about the biography, creative legacy of Taras Shevchenko and its value, emphasizing its relevance for today.

 2.On the same day, at evening,  an evening dedicated to the 199th anniversary of the birthday of Taras Shevchenko  was organized at the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan with the participation of representatives of the Ukrainian community and the media. The  audience greeted Ambassador of Ukraine A.P.Mischenko and leaders of Ukrainian communities. Famous Azerbaijani poet, translator, A. Abdula informed about the role of creativity T.Shevchenko in Azerbaijan.

The head of the Council of veterans of the Ukrainian community L.P.Perevitsky and the children read out verses of the Great Bard. At a high organizational level also took performance of ensemble "Barvinok". The participants in the Ukrainian national costumes performed with poems and songs of T.Shevchenko.
