The heads of the energy ministries discussed the current state of Ukraine’s energy system and the implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of Ukraine and Azerbaijan – Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ilham Aliyev – during their recent meeting in Munich on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
On the eve of the talks, Ambassador of Ukraine Yuriy Husyev held a separate productive meeting with Minister Parviz Shahbazov, during which he expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s consistent support for Ukraine, in particular for the energy equipment and humanitarian assistance provided, which contribute to strengthening the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system amid ongoing Russian aggression.
The parties also discussed in detail further practical steps to deepen bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, including gas supply diversification, the use of the potential of Ukrainian gas storage facilities, and expanding cooperation between state-owned and private energy companies of both countries.
Ukraine highly values Azerbaijan’s solidarity and remains committed to further developing strategic partnership in the energy sphere.
