It was with the occupation of Crimea in 2014 that the hybrid war against our state began. On this day in 2014, a mass rally in support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity took place in Simferopol, near the building of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

At the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Azerbaijan, a ceremony was held to raise the National Flag of Ukraine and the Crimean Tatar flag, as well as to honor those who continue to resist the Russian occupation to this day.

In 2020, by Decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy No. 58/2020, 26 February was officially established as the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol.
