Last week, the Ambassador of Ukraine Yuriy Husyev visited the city of Sheki and held a meeting with the Head of the Executive Authority of the Sheki District, Mr. Elkhan Usubov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for developing interregional cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan. In particular, they addressed the possibility of restoring and intensifying partnership relations between the cities of Zhmerynka and Sheki, as well as the interest of the Azerbaijani side in establishing interregional cooperation with the city of Lviv.

Special attention was given to practical steps to deepen cooperation, develop economic and business ties, and implement joint initiatives in the fields of culture and tourism.

Ambassador of Ukraine Yuriy Husyev expressed gratitude for the support of Ukraine from the leadership and people of the Republic of Azerbaijan and confirmed Ukraine’s interest in developing and deepening practical cooperation at the interregional level.
