These are children of servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine who were killed, are in captivity, or continue to defend Ukraine today. For them, this trip is an opportunity to undergo rehabilitation, receive professional medical support, and experience sincere Azerbaijani hospitality and care.
Today, the group was welcomed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku by the team of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Azerbaijan, headed by the Ambassador of Ukraine Yuriy Husyev, together with the Head of the Working Group on Interparliamentary Relations Azerbaijan–Ukraine, Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Əlibala Məhərrəmzadə.
The Ambassador expressed his sincere gratitude to friends and partners, as well as to Nataliia Beshta and the entire team whose efforts made this initiative possible.
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 498 Ukrainian children have already undergone rest and health rehabilitation in Azerbaijan. This is more than just numbers — it is a true manifestation of the friendship between our peoples.
We sincerely thank the leadership of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani people, and everyone who supports Ukrainian children during this difficult time.
Together, we are stronger.
