hese are children who live under constant Russian shelling, as well as children of active-duty service members, prisoners of war and wounded Defenders of Ukraine.
During their stay in Azerbaijan, the children will receive high-quality psychological and health rehabilitation and enjoy a period of rest in the picturesque mountainous region of Gabala.
Ambassador of Ukraine Yuriy Husyev, together with Əlibala Məhərrəmzadə, Head of the Azerbaijan–Ukraine Interparliamentary Relations Working Group and Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Vugar Mammadov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, welcomed the children at Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, a total of 692 Ukrainian children have already had the opportunity to rest, receive health care and undergo rehabilitation in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
This is not only very important assistance, but also a manifestation of Azerbaijan’s exceptional humanity and solidarity with Ukraine.
Yuriy Husyev sincerely thanked the Republic of Azerbaijan for its unwavering fraternal support for Ukraine and for caring for our children, who, because of Russian aggression, are forced to grow up amid war, constant danger and daily shelling.
“We highly value this assistance, the strong strategic partnership and the friendship that unite the Ukrainian and Azerbaijani peoples,” said Ambassador of Ukraine.
