This visit became possible thanks to the initiative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha and his wife Tetiana Sybiha, as well as the support of the Head of the Interparliamentary Relations Group “Ukraine — Azerbaijan,” Member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Alibala Maharramzade.
Among those who arrived are children from Mariupol, Kherson, Kharkiv, internally displaced children, orphans and semi-orphans, and children from the “Ark of Peace” Children’s Center (headed by Volodymyr Zavadskiy and Oksana Zavadska) from Sumy region — a region that suffers massive daily missile and bomb attacks and faces serious problems with energy supply.
Ambassador of Ukraine Yuriy Husyev emphasized that “children are our future, and we must do everything to ensure they grow up in safety, love, and with faith in tomorrow, which will come with a peaceful sky above.” He also expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership and people of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as to all partners who continue to support Ukraine and our children during this difficult time.
Since 2022, a total of 472 Ukrainian children have undergone rehabilitation, enjoyed rest, and felt the sincere love, care, and hospitality of Azerbaijan, including 228 children in 2025 alone.
