During his working visit to Baku, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov.
The head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and resilience, as well as for its assistance to Ukraine’s energy sector since the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
He noted that transformers provided by Azerbaijani partners have played an important role in maintaining the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system, while supplies of Azerbaijani natural gas helped Ukraine successfully navigate the exceptionally challenging wartime winter of 2025–2026.
💬 “We will continue to deepen our cooperation, and not only in the energy sector. The partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan is strategic in nature. Today, our cooperation is, above all, a prerequisite for regional security in Southeastern and Central Europe in all its dimensions,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
